Brian Bartaby (BSc Hons) is the Founder and CEO of Proplend, an alternative commercial property lending platform, which has to date funded over £240m commercial property loans. These loans have been funded by Proplend’s 1,900 HNW & SI clients who have earnt £30m+ of interest, 75% of which was earnt tax free via either an ISA or pension wrapper.
Proplend is authorised and regulated by the FCA, is a HMRC approved ISA Manager and Brian is a FCA Approved person.
Prior to this, Brian spent 11 years working with residential and commercial property investors and developers, funding over £700m of property transactions the whole way through the capital stack from senior debt to full equity via his previous business, Longcross Capital. Noticing a gap in the market for sub £5m commercial property loans and a keen interest in leveraging technology to improve efficiency led Brian to found Proplend in 2014.
Prior to this Brian spent 13 years working in London, Hong Kong and New York running a Foreign Exchange and Option trading desk.
